Filip Topol

Filip Topol ( born June 12, 1965 in Prague, † June 19, 2013 ) was a Czech singer, songwriter and pianist.

Life

He was the son of the playwright and translator Josef Topol, his older brother is the writer and poet Jáchym Topol. Together with some fellow students from elementary school founded Filip Topol in 1979, the band Psí vojáci (Eng. dog soldiers). Filip Topol also released three solo albums during his career. He also wrote songs and poetry and prose, and appeared in several Czech films as an actor. Žiletky is one of the most famous songs of the Psí vojáci, for out of it was created in 1994, a film of the same name, in which Filip Topol played the lead role.
