Filippo Coarelli

Filippo Coarelli ( born June 9, 1936 in Rome ) is an Italian Classical archaeologist, Hellenist and scholars of antiquity.

Life and work

Filippo Coarelli, a student of archaeologists Ranuccio Bianchi Bandinelli, is a professor of Greek philology and Roman archeology at the University of Perugia. He is a recognized expert on early Roman history. He became internationally known mainly by its archaeological guide to Rome, who was repeatedly applied and translated into numerous languages. His main research interests are the Roman city and town planning.
