Filz

Felt is a municipality in the district Cochem-Zell, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality elms.

Geographical location

The location is just south of Elm and east of Daun in the South Eifel.

History

Felt belonged together with Wagenhausen to rule Wollmerath, which was a fief of the Electorate of Trier and was under its sovereignty.

With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops ended the rule Kurtriers. 1815, the place at the Vienna Congress was awarded to the Kingdom of Prussia. Since 1946 it has been part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.

Parish council

The local council in felt is made of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
