FinePix S3 Pro

The Fujifilm FinePix S3 Pro (short: Fuji S3 or S3 Pro) is a digital SLR camera manufactured by Fujifilm. She appeared in 2005 as a successor to the S2 Pro and also based on the polycarbonate body of the Nikon F80 with a Nikon F lens mount.

Technical specifications and innovations

The S3 Pro is similar in appearance largely its predecessor and is equipped with several accessories of Nikon compatible. It will also run on AA batteries or rechargeable AA batteries.

The camera uses the first super CCD sensor of the type SR II with 6.17 million ordinary "S- pixels" and just as many, less light-sensitive "R- pixels" ( the camera on 12.3 million pixels interpolated). This sensor technology can map a fourfold dynamic range.

The sensor of the S3 has increased up to ISO 1600 light sensitivity and improved noise performance.

The S3 has received a second slot for memory cards, in the addition of a type II CompactFlash or Microdrive card, a xD Picture Card can be used.

Two external interfaces are available for data transmission: a FireWire (IEEE 1394) and USB 2.0 port.
