The Finnish U20 National Hockey Team Takes the Ice Hockey Federation of Finland in ice hockey in the U20 Junior - level performance in international competitions. It was in 1987, 1998 and 2014 world champion in their age class.

History

The Finnish U20 National Hockey Team was founded in 1974 on the occasion of the first unofficial host a World Youth Championship. Up to and including 1998, the U20 national team covered the entire range from juniors at the World Championships, while the U19 national team took part in the Junior European Championships. Since the introduction of the U18 World Championships 1999 U20 Finland national team exclusively represents the power level of the U20 Junior World Championships.

The Finnish U20 national team is among the strongest in the world and is in the time medals table after the U20 World Cup in 2014 to third place with three world titles, four silver and six bronze medals.

Participation in Mestis

Since the 2005/06 season the U20 national team of Finland takes for better preparation for the international tournaments in the game operation of the Mestis, the second highest Finnish professional league in ice hockey, in part, where the team will play fewer games than the regular participants and their games are not official in the rating received.
