Finland is a settlement on community- free area in Lake County in the U.S. state of Minnesota. For statistical purposes, the place has been combined to form a census-designated place (CDP). In 2010, Finland had 195 inhabitants.
Geography
Finland is located near the Upper Lake, the westernmost and highest of the Great Lakes. The town is located at 47 ° 24'53 " north latitude, 91 ° 14'57 " west longitude and covers 14.04 km ². Finland is located in the center of Crystal Bay Township.
Neighboring cities of Finland are Isabella (26 km north) and Illgen City ( 9.6 km south-southeast ).
The nearest large towns are in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada (218 km northeast) and Duluth (106 km southwest). Minneapolis, the largest city in Minnesota, is located 354 km south-west.
The mouth of the Pigeon River, which forms the border with Canada, located 156 km north-east.
Traffic
The main street of Finland is formed by the Minnesota State Route 1. All other roads are minor roads, some unpaved roadways and within local connection paths.
In Silver Bay, there is a port over which the city has connection to all cities on the Great Lakes.
