Finney County is a county located in the state of Kansas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Garden City.

Geography

The County is located in the central south-west of Kansas and has an area of ​​3374 square kilometers, of which two square miles are water. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Scott County, Lane County, Ness County, Hodgeman County, Haskell County, Gray County, Grant County and Kearny County.

History

Finney County was formed on March 6, 1873 from parts of Marion County. It was named after DW Finney, a deputy governor of Kansas.
