Finnish presidential election, 1982
The presidential election in Finland in 1982 was held on 17 January and 18 January 1982.
As the former President Urho Kekkonen resigned from the party center for health reasons, the elections were brought forward. The Social Democrat Mauno Koivisto was able to unite on at the elections to the Electoral College more than 43% of the votes and was elected by the Electoral College even with the votes of the Socialist Democratic Union of the Finnish people in the first ballot for President.
