Finnmarksløpet

Finnmarksløpet called the northernmost sled dog race in the world.

It takes place every year since 1980 in Norway, near the North Cape. Starting point is the town of Alta in Finnmark County. The race takes place in two versions: 500 km for 8- dog teams and 1,000 km for the 14er - dog teams. It is notorious for extreme climatic conditions and very poor trails.
