Finta, Dâmbovița

Finta is a municipality in the district of Dâmboviţa in the historical region of Wallachia, Romania. Parish seat is Finta Mare.

Geographical location

The community Finta located in the lowlands of the Great Wallachia ( Muntenia ) on the left bank of the Ialomiţa. At the upper reaches of the Ialomiţa and on the county road (Drum Judetean ) DJ 720A is a county seat Finta Mare about 28 kilometers northeast of the small town of Titu; the county capital of Targoviste is located about 35 kilometers northwest of Finta away.

History

The history of settlement in the region dates back to the Middle Ages. On the grounds of the place Finta Mare - by the locals Islaz? called - finds were made a settlement.

Population

2002 were registered in the municipality Finta 4,668 people. 4,651 of these were Romanians, 15 were Roma, as well as one Magyar and unknown, were registered in Finta.

On October 31, 2011 4,126 people were counted at a preliminary census in the community Finta in 1,578 households.

The main occupation of the population is agriculture and animal husbandry.

Attractions

  • In Finta Mare, the Romanian Orthodox Church Sf. Nicolae, built in 1721 and 1851 renewed, the old town hall, built in 1910, and the entire estate of the noble family Hulea, built in the late 19th century, are national monuments.
  • In eingemeindeten village Gheboaia the Church Sf. Dumitru? , Cuvioasa Paraschiva, built in 1856, as well as some property built in the late 19th early 20th century, are national monuments.
