FIPS (computer program)

FIPS ( The First nondestructive Interactive Partition Splitting program) is a DOS program for data- preserving reduction from FAT16 and FAT32 partitions.

The program was one of the first free DOS programs with which you could shrink partitions without erasing data. Until the development of GNU Parted it was one of the standard tools for a Linux installation. It comes bundled with every major Linux distribution, FreeBSD, and OpenBSD.
