The Fir Park is a football stadium in Motherwell, Scotland. It is the home of Scottish football club Motherwell FC. The first game wearing the FC Motherwell and Celtic Glasgow in the plant. The Celtics won in front of 6,000 spectators with 8:1.

History

The stadium is fully equipped with seats, roof and can accommodate 13,742 visitors. The attendance record is 35,632, which was set up in 1952 in a Scottish FA Cup match against Glasgow Rangers.

Today, the stadium has a rather unbalanced appearance with large stands in contrast to small stands. The largest grandstand is the South Stand, a huge two-level building, which is reserved for away fans and was completed in 1993. Directly opposite is the comparatively small built in 1995 Davie Cooper Stand, which is named after the former player of the Steelmen. These two grandstands wearing in contrast to all other ranks advertising name.

The East Stand East Stand is the former general admission area, which was completely with chairs. Across the street is the Main Stand built as a grandstand. In this unusual spectator stand, a steel beam of the roof structure itself runs completely along the ranks of the square, but only two-thirds. The club lost during the construction of the 1962 dispute with the owner of a protruding into the stadium area land and could not complete the whistle. After the death of Motherwell's captain Phil O'Donnell 2007, the grandstand was renamed after the Scottish national team.
