Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M

Me - gumi no Daigo (Japaneseめ組の大吾, dt " Daigo of troop M [e ]") is a manga by the Japanese illustrator Masahito Soda, which appeared from 1995 onwards. The comic was also implemented as a film and television series and won the 1997 Shogakukan Manga Award in the shōnen category.

Content

Since Daigo Asahina was rescued as a child of a firefighter 's life, he wants to be just as firefighters. When he is 18, he began an apprenticeship at the Medaka -Ga - Hama fire department in Sengoku. So he comes to the fire in the belief already knowing everything about firefighters, but must learn that there is still much to learn. He is assisted by his former teacher, Ms. Ochiai who treats him like a younger brother. Daigo but fell in love with it. At the same time he has with Shiro Amakasu of the Kujiradai Fire a rival.

Publication

The manga was published from 1995 to 1999 in the manga magazine Shōnen Sunday from the publisher Shogakukan in Japan. Later, the individual chapters appeared in 20 anthologies.

The series was published by Kabuto in France and Viz Media in the USA.

Adaptations

Film

1999 produced the studio Sunrise, directed by Susumu Nishizawa an anime film to manga. The character design Hideyuki Motohashi designed and composed the music Shiroh Hamaguchi. The end credits song Red Darkness comes from Hiroshi Kita Dani. The 45-minute film was released on 22 January 2000 under the title Me - gumi no Daigo in Japanese theaters.

TV Series

From 6 January to 16 March 2004, the station Fuji TV radiated an eleven-part television series for manga. Was directed by Go Shichitaka, Take Narita, Hirosuke Mitake, Taro Kinoshita, Osamu Yonekawa and Ryoichi Tanaka.
