Firmin Didot

Firmin Didot ( born April 14, 1764 in Paris, † April 24, 1836 in Mesnil -sur- l'Estrée, Eure, France) was a French typographer and writer.

Didot came as the second son of François Ambroise Didot a printer Dynasty and received numerous typographical Awards. He developed the stereotype, the typographical measurement system ( with up today valid in Europe, Didot point), and the Didot font on.

He also wrote plays and acted as a publisher, politician and translator.
