Firmin Lambot

Firmin Lambot ( born March 14, 1886 in Florennes, † January 19, 1964 in Borgerhout ) was a Belgian racing cyclist.

Only at the end of his career Lambot celebrated his greatest successes. He is the oldest Tour winner ever. ( In 1922, he was already 36 years old ).

Lambot was not a gifted cyclist, only by his tenacity and his fighting spirit, he could make up for missing class. Thus, the Pélissier brothers left out the fact that the Tour de France was in 1919 was a tour of the farm horses and the brutish workhorses. Well in allusion to the winners Firmin Lambot.
