Firouz Nosrat-ed-Dowleh III

Firuz Firuz Mirza Nosrat also Nosratdoleh -ed Dowleh III (Persian فیروز میرزا نصرتالدوله; * 1889 in Tehran, † 1937 in Semnan ) was an Iranian politician of the early 20th century.

Life

Firuz Nosratdoleh, was born in 1889 as the first son of Abdol Hossein Mirza Farmanfarma and Princess Ezzat - ed Dowleh, daughter of Muzaffar al-Din Shah. He received at the Université Saint -Joseph in Beirut and the Lycée Janson de Sailly in Paris Seine education.

In 1905 he returned to Iran and took over in 1906 the Office of the Deputy Governor of Kerman. He replaced his father as governor from which this year went to the Constitutional Revolution in Iran after Tehran.

In 1911 he returned to Paris to do a doctorate at the famous French lawyer Geraud de Geouffre de La Pradelle in the field of international law with a dissertation on the Sultanate of Oman. Firuz Nosratdoleh went in 1914 with the outbreak of the First World War back in Iran and was first in 1916 and again in 1918 in the cabinet of the Minister of Justice Hassan Vosough. In this context, he was instrumental in the negotiations with the British, who in 1919 led to the conclusion of the Anglo -Iranian Treaty. After conclusion of the contract was Firuz Nosratdoleh Foreign Minister in the Cabinet Vosough. From the British Crown, he received the Order of St Michael and St George for his services to the British Iranian friendship. Nosratdoleh accompanied Ahmad Shah Qajar on his first trip to Europe when it was announced in Tehran that the conclusion of the Anglo -Iranian treaty with the payment of substantial bribes to Ahmad Shah Hassan Vosough, Firuz were Nosratdoleh and other members of the government and parliament together. The bribes came from a loan of two million pounds sterling, Britain had given to Iran. The internal political disputes over this Agreement, with the opinion of the political opponents Vosoughs Iran would turned into a British protectorate, led to his resignation as Prime Minister and to the provisional end to the political career of Nosratdoleh.

After the coup of February 21, 1921 Nosratdoleh was arrested on the orders of Prime Minister Seyyed Zia al Din Tabatabai on corruption charges, but released after the resignation of Tabatabai. As a member of Parliament, he was until 1923 Chairman of the Finance Committee.

From 1923 he became governor of the province of Fars. He remained governor until 1924 and took over in 1925 in the cabinet of Prime Minister Reza Khan, later Reza Shah Pahlavi, the Office of the Attorney General and 1927 in the Cabinet of Mehdi Qoli Khan Hedayat Minister of Finance. In his capacity as Minister of Finance Nosratdoleh was instrumental in the founding of the Iranian National Bank.

1929 dismissed by order of Reza Shah and placed under house arrest, Nosratdoleh 1930 was tried and convicted for corruption in court. In 1936 he was arrested again and died in April 1937.

After the abdication of Reza Shah in 1941, there was a judicial inquiry following the unexplained death of several prominent prisoners. Firuz Nosratdoleh to have been dismissed under the supervision of Dr. Ahmadi from prison and placed in a house in Semnan under house arrest. But then he was strangled in April 1937 in this house.
