First Baseman

The 1B first baseman, abbreviated (German: first base man) is a field position in baseball. It is taken from that player who stands on the first base. In the notation of the official baseball first baseman the "number 3".

The first baseman 's job to cover first base, and catch balls thrown to her team-mates before opposing base runner to reach first base. First Basemen therefore are often at the end of a double play. Since First Basemen often have to perform acrobatic maneuvers fishing, they are ideally tall and articulated.
