FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2007
The 46th Nordic World Ski Championships was held from February 22 to March 4, 2007 in the Japanese city of Sapporo instead. This was decided on 6 June 2002 during the 43rd FIS Congress in Portoroz (Slovenia). Sapporo in 1972 was the venue for the Winter Olympic Games, the Nordic competitions included simultaneously as a world championship.
There were 18 matches played (12 Skilangläufe, 3 ski jumping and Nordic 3 combinations ). The cross-country competitions were held in Shirahatayama, ski jumping on the normal hill on the Miyanomori - jump, ski jumping on the large hill ski jump on the Okurayama. For the first time in history, led a part of the sprint cross-country skiing through a hall, the Sapporo Dome.

15 km freestyle
Date: February 28, 2007 The race began with an interval start and was characterized by very different weather conditions. Thus, the early starters had excellent conditions. At the onset of heavy snowfall the trail for the later starters was too slow to intervene in the medal fight. Only towards the end of the race stopped the snowfall and only Tobias Angerer could still run from the rear seats to a medal position. The actual fourth place of the race, the Austrian Johannes Eder, was later disqualified because of a confirmed by the CAS 2008 lifetime doping ban.
50 km classic

Date: February 24, 2007 First was a 15 km run in the classic style, followed by a 15km run in the freestyle.
