Fischbach, Birkenfeld
Fischbach an der Nahe is near Idar -Oberstein on the German Gem Road in the district of Birkenfeld, in Rhineland- Palatinate. The municipality belongs to the municipality Herrnstein.
Geography
Fischbach lies in the southern Hunsrück on the Nahe. The coming of Idarwald fish creek flows through the village and flows into the river Nahe.
History
Fischbach was first documented in 1438, when the then ruling over the space counts of Sponheim extinct. Then Fischbach was divided possession of Baden and the Counts of Veldenz. The Veldenzer proportion took over in 1444 Pfalz- simmering and then in 1559 Pfalz- Zweibrücken. As part of a territory exchange Fischbach was completely Baden 1776. 1798-1814 the city was part of the French Saar departments. After the Congress of Vienna (1815 ) he came to the Principality of Birkenfeld and thus to the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg.
