Fischbach is a municipality in the district of Kaiserslautern, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality high Speyer.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Palatinate Forest Nature Park.

The council consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 of personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Regular events

The Köhler festival takes place end of July. For nine days, a charcoal kiln is ignited to carry on the tradition of Kohler craftsmanship. As part of this celebration takes place, an event almost every day.

On the second weekend in September is traditionally held the church fete. A parade through the village and a church fete speech or a wheelbarrow race are a permanent part of this village festival.

Traffic

The B 48, which leads from Bad Bergzabern to Bad Kreuznach runs directly through the town.

The nearest motorway junction Enkenbach- Alsenborn ( 17) on the Federal Highway 6 towards Saarbrücken and Waidhaus is about three kilometers away. Nearest station is high Speyer on the railway line Mannheim- Saarbrücken.

Education

Fischbach has the kindergarten mice Castle, which is located right next to the community center.

Sports

The first badminton team of SV Fischbach 1959 plays in the 1st Bundesliga and in 2008 was German champion U19.
