Fissure
The fissure (from Latin fissura " column ", " crack ", Pl fissure ) is a medical term of art which can have the following meanings:
- In the anatomy of: a physiological natural groove or ridge on the body surface, for example in the brain ( and Others Sylvian fissure, located between the temporal lobe and frontal or parietal lobes ),
- ( oblique fissure and horizontal fissure ) in the lungs between the lobes of the lungs or
- To the liver ( fissure of the ligamentum teretis and fissure of the ligamentum venosi )
- As slit-like openings between adjacent bones of the skull (eg orbital fissure into the orbit, petrotympanic fissure at the temporal bone ) and
- The furrows on the teeth (→ fissure (tooth) ).
- Pathologically as Tear the skin or mucous membrane (eg as anal fissure or rhagade (as in mouth ) ), often ulcerated ulcerierend / eroding,
- Malformation of the skin, such as the Kutisfissur (recovery or fold over a non -knit breastbone),
- Fissure ossium, a so-called hairline fracture of the bone ( the lightest form of bone fracture ).
