Fitzbek

Fitzbek is a municipality in the district of Steinburg, in Schleswig- Holstein. The community is known for its breeding of Red and Whites that were exported in the year 1902 in all the world.

Geography and transport

Fitzbek located 7 km northeast of Kellinghusenstraße in Akrug Nature Park. The mill pond is located in the community. Sturgeon, mill creek, Kirchweddelbach, Bull creek and Wegebek flow through the community.

History

The history of some of the local farms dates back to the 15th century. The name derives probably from skein Beeke on what small stream called.

Policy

Since the local elections of 2008, the voters Community AF has all nine seats in the municipal council.
