Five College Consortium

As a Five Colleges (English for five colleges ) are summarized in the west of the State of Massachusetts five U.S. universities in the Pioneer Valley.

Among the Five Colleges include the public University of Massachusetts Amherst and the four private liberal arts colleges Amherst College, Hampshire College, Smith College and Mount Holyoke College. The first three universities are located in Amherst, Smith College in Northampton, and Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley. According to the university, the area is also known as Five College Area ( Five College area).

Since 1965, the universities in the consortium Five Colleges, Incorporated are members. The Five Colleges cooperate professionally in particular by students of the participating universities can assign events also at the other four colleges. Collaborations, there are also approximately between the libraries and by a common bus network of universities.
