Fjord horse

The Norwegian Fjord Horse ( also Norwegian Fjord Inger, Fjord horse or pony Fjord ) is a breed of horse that originated from the coastal areas of Norway.

Exterior

Physique

The Fjord Horse is a typical strong standing in the Baroque style Small horse ( more than 120 cm). The Fjord Horse bears marks of old breeds of horses that are very reminiscent of Eastern European and Asian wild horses. It has a wide forehead with waking, quiet and clear eyes. The tall, straight head with his expressive eyes and small pointed ears sitting on a very strong neck. The nostrils are large. The strong horse has a strong, broad shoulders and chest, a flat withers and a resilient, sustainable back. The chest is broad and deep, sloping croup. Color

Fjord horses come in all colors fawn, the mane is two-colored and usually cut so that it stands upright. Breeding history

The breed has ancient roots. Nevertheless go all current representatives of the breed back to a single stallion, which was used at the turn of the 20th century over 17 years for pure breeding. Since 1907, the Fjord horse is drawn in pure culture. That is, there are no foreign breeds used for finishing. At the World Exhibition " Expo 86 " in Montreal, Canada was the pony flag of Norway.
