FK BAUMIT Jablonec

BAUMIT Jablonec is a football club from the approximately 45,000 inhabitants north Bohemian town of Jablonec nad Nisou ( German Jablonec nad Nisou ).

Club history

1945 ČSK Jablonec nad Nisou founded. For a long time the club played in the lower leagues in 1963 succeeded as Jiskra Jablonec promotion to the second league of Czechoslovakia. Starting in 1964, the car plant LIAZ was from the neighboring town of Liberec carrier operation of the association. In 1970 LIAZ Jablonec Czech Cup final, but lost the TJ Gottwaldov.

Four years later, TJ LIAZ Jablonec rose in the first league, but only one season remained there. 1986, the club was relegated to the third- highest division, the resurgence in the second league was not until 1992. 1993 landed the team in a relegation place in the top league and defeated in two games Bohemians Prague.

Only a year later, Jablonec celebrate promotion to the 1st League and holds since in the highest Czech league. The greatest success was achieved by the club FK Jablonec 97 in 1998 when he won the Czech Football Cup. In Europe Cup Winners' Cup the following season the club separated already in the first round against the Cypriot club Apollon Limassol.

The most successful season in the championship had Jablonec in the season 2009 /2010. Here they played until the final day of the championship and eventually became one point behind the champions Sparta Prague in second. On May 17, 2013, the club won for the second time the National Association Cup 5-4 on penalties against FK Mladá Boleslav, after standing at 90 minutes 0:0.

Founded in 1945 as ČSK Jablonec nad Nisou. 1948 Renamed to SK Jablonec nad Nisou. More name changes, there were 1955 in Sokol Preciosa Jablonec nad Nisou, 1960 in Jiskra Jablonec nad Nisou, 1963 in TJ LIAZ Jablonec nad Nisou, 1993 Sklobižu Jablonec nad Nisou, 1994 in Jablonec nad Nisou, 1998 FK Jablonec 97

On 1 July 2008, the club changed its name to FK Jablonec BAUMIT after the Austrian building materials producer Baumit was won as a strategic partner.
