FK Haugesund

Fotballklubben Haugesund is a Norwegian football club from Haugesund. The biggest success of the club was next three years excellence achieving the Cup final in 2007.

History

FK Haugesund emerged after the end of the season in 1993, 1919 decided as Sportsklubben Haugar and Djerv, their first teams merge and outsource in a new club. The local rivals SK Vard Haugesund was also involved in the merger plans, however, the general meeting of the association decided against participation.

In the following years the team was relegated from the third division up in the Tippeligaen, which was reached in 1997 for the first time. After two seasons FK Haugesund was relegated as a table Penultimate again, managed as second division champions but its chances of promotion. In the Tippeligaen the team together IK Start once again taking only into the relegation zone.

After several midfield squares in the second division FK Haugesund missed there in 2004 in the league. As a runner-up behind the not climb legitimate second representation of Viking FK were abolished its chances of promotion. The club established itself in the following years at the rear of the second division. 2007 reached the FK Haugesund of the Norwegian Cup final, where the team was defeated with a 0-2 defeat Lillestrøm SK. As a master of Adecco Ligaen 2009, the club promotion to the Tippeligaen and peaked in the 2010 season a good 6th place in the table.
