FK Inđija

The FK Inđija (full official name in Serbian: Фудбалски клуб Инђија, Fudbalski klub Inđija ) is a Serbian football club based in the small town of Inđija. Currently the club plays in the second division.

History

The club was founded in 1933 was originally called ŽAK, then Železničar and was a railroader - sports club. Under this name, the team played until 1969, when the name was changed to PIK Inđija. The next name change came in 1975, the club was called Agrounija Inđija, named after a sponsor. In 1994 it was FK Inđija to get back to bear the name of a sponsor from 2001 to 2003, Brazda Coop.

Throughout its history, the club played mainly in the third Yugoslav league. Several times he took part in placement rounds of qualifying for the second division until 1992 succeeded. In the same year she achieved the quarter-finals in the Yugoslav Cup. The first promotion to the elite league was only a one-year episode, until the recent rise in 2010, when you as a master of Prva Liga for the second time along with the Sevojno in the Super League on, but went straight off again.

Stadium

The small stadium of FK Indjija is the Inđija Stadium. It is located near the city center near the train station and the railway line Belgrade - Subotica -Budapest. It was built on the site of a former locomotive depot. For decades, it is the center of sports and football activities in the city. Immediately after the establishment of Železnik Inđija the area was fenced. Wooden seats were installed and the capacity reached 600 spectators. Changing rooms were built until 1962. Until then moved around the sports cafe opposite the stadium. The decrepit wooden seats were replaced in 1970. 2006 the stadium received its present appearance. The first sports facility could offer 4000-5000 square people. More recently, the stricter requirements to both the safety and comfort so that the capacity to 3500 fell. 2006 presents future plans for expansion to 9000 seats.
