FK Metalac

FK Metalac (full official name in Serbian: Фудбалски клуб Meтaлaц, Fudbalski klub Metalac ), better known under the name Metalac, is a Serbian football club from the town of Gornji Milanovac 120 km south of the capital Belgrade. The club currently plays in the second division of Serbia, the Prva Liga. The club was founded on 12 June 1961.

History

In the spring of 1961, the municipal committee for physical culture of Gornji Milanovac organized a football tournament for children of the working class and the rural population. The tournament was played in Takovo, were allowed to participate in the only local teams and no registered players. After completion of the tournament Kamman to the conclusion that there was footballing potential in Milanovac. So ere w at the initiative of former football player Miroslav Spasojevic a meeting organized at the Spasojevic suggested that adolescents of urban enterprises registered and active should play football.

Meanwhile proposal found support for the two companies Graditelj and Metalac. Finally, a football club was founded on 12 June 1961 and, at its inaugural meeting, the union of the two companies took part. The newly founded association called Radnik was registered in Čačak and where he took part in the regional league competition. In the season 1964/65 the club received its present name, FK Metalac.
