FK Rudar Prijedor

Rudar Prijedor ( Serbian kyrillsich: Pудаp Пpиjeдop ) is a football club from the town of Prijedor in the Republic of Republika Srpska, in the northwest of Bosnia, currently playing in the top division of the country, the Premijer league.

History

The club was founded in 1928 by miners in Ljubija. 1967 Rudar rose the first time in the second division of Yugoslavia and moved to the larger stadium in Prijedor. Rudar played in the former Yugoslavia always unterklassig and was never able to establish itself in higher leagues. Since the Bosnian War played the club, with the exception of the 2007/08 season, in the first league of Republika Srpska, which is one of the two second division of Bosnia and Herzegovina today.

The greatest success of the club was during the Yugoslav Cup in 1989, where Rudar the FK Vardar Skopje and the Vojvodina Novi Sad - with players like Siniša Mihajlovic and Miroslav Tanga - defeated and only in Hablbfinale against FK Velež Mostar retired.

2005 Rudar Ljubija merged with the OFK Prijedor, with which one had long been on friendly terms, said the city stadium in Prijedor and partially formed gaming communities.

2009 succeeded Rudar the rise in the Premijer league.
