FK Vardar

FK Vardar Skopje ( officially: Fudbalski club Vardar Skopje) is a Macedonian football club from the capital Skopje. The association was created in 1947 through a merger of the local football clubs FK Pobeda and FK Makedonija. Vardar Skopje is currently with seven championships and five cup wins record champions in Macedonia. The club colors are red and black.

The greatest successes in the club's history were winning the Yugoslav Cup in 1961 and the Yugoslav league title in the 1986 season / 87th This was the season started ten clubs with a deduction of six points because of match-fixing in the preseason. Vardar was not affected and won the championship. The runners-up Partizan Belgrade appealed to the Association an appeal and obtained with the support of the policy, a cancellation of the point deduction. The politically motivated judgment recognized the UEFA but not so Vardar took in the European Cup of Champions as Yugoslav champions.

In recent history, winning the Macedonian Cup in 1993, 1994, 1995, 2002, 2003, 2012 and 2013 and the Macedonian Cup belong to the years 1993, 1995, 1998, 1999 and 2007, the greatest achievements. In the first football season in independent Macedonia 1992/93 Vardar Skopje was without losing a game with 27 wins and 7 undecided Macedonian champion.

The home games of the association will be held in the Philip II Arena. This provides 33,460 spectators.

FK Vardar Skopje is by far the best known and most popular Macedonian football club, which also comes from the fact that it is the only Macedonian club in the former Yugoslavia who played in the first league and for this reason was considered as a kind of Macedonian national team.
