FK Ventspils

The Futbola clubs Ventspils is a Latvian football club based in the port city of Ventspils.

History

The FK Ventspils was created in 1997 as a merger of the two second division Ventspils Nafta and Venta Ventspils and took over from the second division champions Vecriga Riga the license for the Virsliga and immediately succeeded there, the fourth place.

In 2007, the team successfully defended a 1-0 victory at Skonto Riga, with a game before the season ends his title.
