Flag of American Samoa

The flag of American Samoa was adopted on 24 April 1960.

The flag is blue in color with a red-bordered white triangle whose base lies in the fly. An eagle in the white field symbolizes the close connection of the islands to the United States. In its talons the eagle holds traditional symbols of Samoan chiefs.
