Flag of Easter Island

The Flag of the Easter Island ( Chile ) is the flag of the indigenous Rapanui. On a white base, a red Rei Miro is shown - a chest jewelry that was worn as a symbol of power of dignitaries of the natives. The importance of Rei - Miros is not unequivocally proven.

The flag is also used on official occasions next to the flag of Chile. In addition, there is a flag of the only municipality on the island Isla de Pascua, it shows a golden emblem on a white background. Until the Chilean annexation of the islands in 1888 one of today's similar flag was in use, they also showed four Manutara, mythical birds of the indigenous culture.
