Flag of Galicia

The flag of Galicia has a diagonally right to the flagpole blue stripes on white bunting. In the middle of the coat of arms of Galicia cloth is inserted.

History

The flag of Galicia goes back to the historic maritime flag of the city and province of A Coruña. In the center of the flag is the coat of arms of the former kingdom of Galicia with the Spanish crown above. It dates from the 10th and 11th century and shows a gold chalice, a silver Host and seven silver crosses, which go back to the old seven provinces of Galicia.
