History

The colors probably have their origin in the colors of the uniforms at the Liechtenstein Fürstenhof of the 18th century. The prince's crown was added only in 1937, as the Liechtenstein team looked at the 1936 Summer Olympics, that the flag was otherwise identical to the flag of Haiti. The representation of the Fürstenhutes was slightly modified in 1982.
