Flag of Lower Saxony
The flag of Lower Saxony consists of the adopted by the flag of the Federal Republic of Germany Schwarz-Rot - Gold, in which the somewhat shifted towards the pole, Lower Saxony state coat of arms - the Saxon Steed is. This flag is used on land, both as a state and as a service flag.

History
This flag was designed in 1951 to receive the newly created after the Second World War state of Lower Saxony a neutral flag, the disadvantaged or defraud any of the previously existing in this area formerly independent parts of the country Hanover, Brunswick, Oldenburg and Schaumburg -Lippe. Until the official launch of the now valid flag of Lower Saxony widely the national flags previously used in the respective areas were also used on official occasions.
