Flag of Nebraska

The flag of the U.S. state of Nebraska was introduced in 1925.

Symbolism

The flag shows on blue bunting, the golden seal of Nebraska from the year 1867. Shows this as a symbol for the agriculture and industry of the state of an allegorical landscape.

Due to the background goes a steam locomotive with cars attached in front of a mountain landscape. On the river, the Missouri, drives a steamer. A log cabin and wheat bundle symbolize the importance of the settlers and agriculture. In the foreground a blacksmith working at his anvil.

At the top of the seal is on a banner the motto of the State: " Equality Before the Law" ( equality before the law ).

Trivia

In 2001, a web vote of the North American Vexillological Association ( the North American customer Flag Association ) this flag was chosen among the U.S. states and Canadian provinces on the penultimate place.
