Flag of Norfolk Island

The flag of Norfolk Island was officially launched on 17 January 1980 for the island belonging to Australia.

Description

The flag is green - white-green, in the ratio 7:9:7, split in the middle topped with a green Norfolk pine - a domestic only on this island coniferous tree species.

History

The draft was approved by the "Council of Norfolk Island " on June 6, 1979. The designer of the flag has not been announced. The " Norfolk Iceland Flag and Public Seal Act" of 1979, she defined and established the guidelines, as they had to use it. The Act on the flag was adopted on 1 January 1980. On January 17, 1980, the flag was officially introduced with the enactment of the law.
