Flag of Tatarstan
The flag of Tatarstan shows a green-red striped cloth, in the middle of which a narrow white stripe is that is 1 /15 of the width. The design was created by the Tatar artists tavil Giniatovich Haziakhmetov and selected under a flag competition in 1991. It corresponds to the colors of the flag of the Turkish Community "Volga - Ural".
The colors indicate the following:
- Green represents nature and rebirth.
- Red symbolizes the maturity, the strength, the energy and life.
- White stands for purity.
The flag of Tatarstan was officially adopted on 29 November 1991.
