Flag of the Central African Republic

The flag of the Central African Republic was adopted on 1 December 1958.

Description and significance

The national flag followed by a draft of the first president Barthelemy Boganda, an advocate of African Unity, which is reflected in the symbolism of the national flag. You should express the equality of all people. White, red and blue stand for the flag of France, the old colonial power. These are combined with the Pan-African colors of green, yellow and red, the red vertical bars also symbolizes the common bond, the red blood of mankind. For the colors green and yellow, there is another interpretation. After Green for the people of the forest region, yellow stands for the inhabitants of the savanna area.
