Flag of the Seychelles
The flag of the Republic of the Seychelles was adopted on 18 June 1996.
Description
The five colors represent characteristics of the Seychelles: blue for the sky and the sea, yellow for the sun, red for the people ( blood), white for social justice and green for land and vegetation.

History
The first national flag of the independent Seychelles was adopted on 29 June 1976. When the President James Mancham was overthrown by France- Albert René in 1977, the red-white- green flag of the Seychelles People's United Party became the national flag.
