Flag of the Turks and Caicos Islands

The flag of the Turks and Caicos Islands is based how many flags of the British Overseas Territories on the Blue Ensign and thus points to the dependence of Great Britain.

The emblem of the Turks and Caicos islands in the fly of the flag shows an ocher- yellow sign, the shell of a conch, a lobster and cactus.

The flag was officially adopted on 7 November 1968. Previously, since the 19th century, a Blue Ensign with the old badge of the colony in use. The circular badge showed a coastal scene with a sailing ship and a salt workers.
