Flagler Museum

The Henry Morrison Flagler House ( also known as Whitehall Flagler and Henry Morrison Mansion listed ) is a time- history museum in Palm Beach, Florida.

History

The scale than marble palace property with 55 rooms was built by railroad magnate Henry Morrison Flagler, a business partner of John Davison Rockefeller in 1902 as a wedding gift to his wife. This former stately summer residence, who served as a hotel from the mid 1920s to the late 50s, can be visited. On display are furniture and rooms from the time and mementos of the railway era. Since February 16, 2000 Henry Morrison Flagler House is a National Historic Landmark and is recognized as an outstanding example of the American neo-classicism of the Gilded Age.

Nature

The house consists of two levels. On the ground floor you will find social and economic rooms arranged around a central courtyard. There you will find a library, music room, billiard room, dance hall, a breakfast and dining room, lounge and a larger hall. In the courtyard, a bubbling fountain. The second floor houses the sleeping quarters of the residents and other lounges.
