Flamsteed (crater)

Flamsteed is an impact crater on the moon western front in the plane of Oceanus Procellarum, northeast of Hansteen and southwest of Kepler. The somewhat irregularly shaped crater is only slightly eroded and has a central mountain on. It is within the 110 beautifully large sunken ring of spirits crater Flamsteed P.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the British astronomer John Flamsteed.
