Flatbush, Brooklyn

Flatbush is a neighborhood ( Neighbourhood ) of New York, which is located in the district ( borough ) Brooklyn (which is congruent with Kings County). The name of the district derives from the Dutch word Vladbos, which means as much as forested land.

Flatbush is known for its many ethnic neighborhoods, including major Orthodox Jewish streets.

Especially in Hip- Hop Flatbush is known because many well-known artists of the genre come from this area, such as Flatbush Zombies, the underachievers, Busta Rhymes, Talib Kweli and Foxy Brown. Following the coming of Flatbush Hip- Hop describe some rapper from Eimsbuettel, a district of Hamburg, such as Samy Deluxe, their district often than Eimsbush.

The Brooklyn College and the Erasmus Hall High School located in the area. The 1960 demolished Ebbets Field Baseball Stadium, the former home of the Brooklyn Dodgers was also in Flatbush.
