Flatbush, Brooklyn

Flatbush is a neighborhood ( Neighbourhood ) of New York, which is located in the district ( borough ) Brooklyn (which is congruent with Kings County). The name of the district derives from the Dutch word Vladbos, which means as much as forested land.

Flatbush is known for its many ethnic neighborhoods, including major Orthodox Jewish streets.

Especially in Hip- Hop Flatbush is known because many well-known artists of the genre come from this area, such as Flatbush Zombies, the underachievers, Busta Rhymes, Talib Kweli and Foxy Brown.
