On October 19, 1915, the coat of arms was officially awarded by Duke Leopold of Austria at Flawil. In the execution by the engravers Egger should be dropped as a mark of aristocracy, on the advice of the historian Prof. Max Gmür the helmet. The modified coat of arms, which then showed a mural crown, was present on September 19, 1916. From the municipal coat of arms of the Canton of St. Gallen, it was finally approved on December 6, 1938 without a helmet and mural crown.
