Fleesensee

The Fleesensee is one belonging to the Mecklenburg Lake District lake district Mecklenburg Lake District Mecklenburg -Vorpommern.

The lake has a length of approximately 4.9 kilometers, a maximum width of around four kilometers and an average depth of 6.1 meters. It is within a chain of lakes between the Müritz and Plau and sets in the west on the shores of Lake Malchow. To the east is on the Fleesenkanal connect to Kölpinsee. The chain of lakes is traversed by the Elde from east to west and is part of the total federal waterway Müritz- Elde waterway with waterway class I; responsible is the Waterways and Shipping Office Lauenburg. The chain of lakes is frequented by the boat and pleasure boat traffic and water sports.

On the northwest coast of Fleesensee the community Silz lies with its districts Heide Park and Nossentin, on the south bank of the district Untergöhren the community Göhren -Lebbin. Shares in the lakes area, the municipalities Silz, Jabel, Göhren -Lebbin and the town of Malchow. In Untergöhren is the holiday and leisure complex Fleesensee, which though not immediately adjacent to the lake.
