Fleet Foxes

Fleet Foxes is the name of an American band from Seattle. The quintet describes its music as "baroque harmonic pop jams".

Band History

In 2006, the band under the name Fleet Foxes first small live concerts. In her second year she played tape during an extended tour among other things in common with the folk rockers Blitzen Trapper in sold-out venues. She was also in 2008 as a support act of Elbow and Wilco go.

Their debut album, Fleet Foxes released in the U.S. on 3 June 2008 on the Sub Pop label. In Europe, it was moved to Bella Union. The album earned after the release of positive reviews in the trade press. The band's style has been compared with the psychedelic pop music of the sixties and seventies, in particular formations such as The Byrds, Crosby, Stills & Nash and The Beach Boys.

In September 2010, singer Robin Pecknold announced that the recordings had been completed for the second album. The new album, Helplessness Blues was released on 29 April 2011. The band was increased for their second album to six members, and new instruments such as harp, double bass and steel guitar are now expanding the sound. At the heart of the songs, however, continue to be the multi-voiced choruses. On the release of the album was followed by a tour through the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Spain and Ireland.
