History

The theater was founded in the early 1980s as a free group of Matthias Kraemer and Sebastiano Toma. With circus tent and caravan, the ensemble traveled across Germany. In the early 1990s, the artist group disbanded and Toma and Kraemer laid the foundation for today's theater and restaurant tent: They justified as a theater producer, the " temporary structures productions ", and the "sea cabaret " was on Sylt. First, a tent was pitched in 1994 in Westerland, then it went to the airport at Westerland. A few years later reinforced the idea to settle in Hamburg.

Location for the " temporary buildings " (see also Flying construction) was in Hamburg in 1999, initially for autumn to spring the Simon-von-Utrecht-Straße/Ecke Seilerstraße in St. Pauli. In the summer, was dismantled and with the same equipment, the " Meerkabarett " aligned on Sylt. Because of a housing development in the theater eventually moved to the southern ramparts (New Town ), today's year-round location.

The foundation stone for the new four-masted Chapiteau at the Glacischaussee 4 (near the Holy Spirit and the Millerntor / metro station St. Pauli ) was held in April 2002. 2003 bought Indra Wussow, director of the " Sylt- source " the company. The temporary buildings was restructured, the theater in Hamburg organizationally separated from the sea cabaret on Sylt. A few months later, Thomas Collien and Joachim Wussow took over the management and programmatic realignment of temporary buildings Hamburg. The end of 2008, began initial talks for a takeover of the tent by Guido -Marc Gosch.

First, he jumped as managing for Thomas Collie, who was tied up in other projects. Then the key handover took place on 10 September 2009. Guido -Marc Gosch has always accompanied the " temporary buildings " since Sylt days in various positions since July 2010 he has been the sole owner of the house.
