Flint, Flintshire

Flint (Welsh Y Fflint ) is a city in the Welsh county of Flintshire.

Geography

Flint is located south of the estuary of the River Dee, which is here under strong tidal influence.

History

Flint has the oldest municipal organization in Wales. It goes back to the year 1284th

It is also known the castle, whose construction began with Edward I in 1277 and plays a key role in Shakespeare's Richard II.

From Flint originate Ian Rush and the ancestors of the American actor Tom Cruise.
